Trauma Rehabilitation Workshop at Emmanuel Christian Academy
When the ECC Management Team and staff met at the beginning of the academic year 2019, seeking God and living intentionally for his purposes was the common idea, thought and inspiration among the management team and staff. This institution has been created by men and women whose efforts, skills, and convictions were unshakable. The story of Emmanuel Christian College is a story of the powerful partnership between God and man. God has given Emmanuel Christian College It belongs to us but God will demand of us all our determination, ideas, efforts, unity and trust in Him. Thus, we dedicate the year 2019 as a year of seeking God and pressing on together.
In January, the ECC certificate programs, Business Administration in Yei and the In-service Education certificate in Education in Ajuang Thok and Aweil, resumed with more than 100 participants. In Ajuang Thok, a class of 72 students from last year’s intake continued and in Aweil, another Teacher Education Certificate class resumed with 35 participants. In Yei, a Business class was started to assist those students who were not qualified for the ECC Diploma in Business Administration program. All students reported for their studies.
In February, the ECC diploma and degree programs started in Yei Town. Despite the challenges of insecurity on the road, ECC students from Juba, Rumbek, Torit, Chukudum, Lainya, Kuajok, the Nuba Mountains, Magwi and those from within the surrounding areas of Yei town reported for their class. Emmanuel Christian Academy Secondary School (ECASS) also resumed their activities with 126 learners. Though faced with security challenges in Goli and those areas surrounding the Goli-Yei road, the ECC Goli team reported to the ECC campus in Goli to continue with the services in the area. They are ensuring access to basic health services and the protection of the compound through their presence.
I extend my sincere gratitude to the ECC partners, the Board of Directors, the staff and the students for standing together with the institution during these challenging times. Let us continue to press on together as we keep on seeking Him.
